Synopsis
This 1 day practical workshop will work theprinciples of postural management, how posture and pressure care are related,and how to complete a postural assessment.
There will be a mix of presentation andhands on practical activities. The workshop will concentrate on completingassessment and documenting the outcomes, followed by how to clinically justifyrecommendations for solution provision.
Learning Outcomes
- Be able to identify red flags for clients with postural issues
- Be aware and understand underlying principles of 24 hour postural management
- Be able to identify the basics of postural assessment and physical anatomy related to this
- Increase confidence in physical assessment skills
- Increase confidence in documenting postural assessment
- Increase awareness of a range of considerations when analysing assessment outcomes
- Be familiar and deepen understanding of basic solutions to manage postural presentations
- Be aware of more advanced solutions and know when and where to refer on if unable to address within own service
