In our Meet the team series, we’re sitting down with team members across the business to share the stories, values, and small moments that make their work meaningful.
This week, we caught up with Chris- a familiar face to many of our partners and service users, to talk about his time at Accora, what integrity means in action, and why a simple cup of tea can go a long way.
What is your role at Accora and how long have you been part of the team?
I am an Account Manager covering the South East and London. I joined in 2019- so it’s been around five or six years now, depending on when you're reading this!
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Without a doubt, it’s seeing the difference our products make to the lives of the people who use them.
What is something people might not expect about your work?
I currently hold the Accora record for the most cups of tea made for service users- a title I wear proudly.
What’s one value or mindset that guides how you work?
Integrity is at the heart of everything I do.
What is a moment or achievement at Accora you’re especially proud of?
During the height of the Covid pandemic, I visited a service user who hadn’t seen another person in four months -even her shopping was left at the door. Sitting with her, hearing stories about her late husband, and helping her find comfort in her chair was a moment I’ll never forget. It’s something I feel deeply honoured to have been part of.
When you're not at Accora, how do you like to unwind or spend your free time?
Mostly chasing my two young children around local parks, usually to stop them from committing crimes!
