Mattresses 101:
What you need to know

Which mattress is right?

For a comprehensive assessment considering various factors, we advise consulting clinicians who can provide support in selecting the right mattress. Additionally, we have developed a mattress selection guide to offer guidance in prescribing Allevia mattresses. Please note that our guide complements, but does not replace, clinician advice.

Mattress selection guide

Reactive vs active mattresses, what’s the difference?

Static pressure mattresses (reactive) provide consistent support using foam layers, while powered alternating pressure mattresses (active) use actively inflated and deflated air cells to dynamically alter pressure distribution.

Do you provide mattresses for wider beds?

We provide mattresses to fit both standard width nursing beds (900 mm) or wider beds of 1050 mm.

Do you provide clinical support for our team?

We have a team of clinicians who can support with training and technical support on our product range.
