The importance and impact of good transfer on seating
A wonderful multi-function chair loses its charm if the person using it has difficulties getting in and out. In this two-part webinar, we will look at improving the harmony between the person and their seating during the standing and sitting process.
Customised Equipment- Making Things Possible
This session will provide an overview of REMAP, a national charity that has been making and adapting equipment to meet the unique needs of individuals at no cost to them. The variety and complexity of equipment provided is wide-ranging and limited only by the creativity and skills of its volunteer engineers. The equipment created is explicitly designed for the client.
Sharing case studies, we will showcase the life span of REMAP’s service and explore how your professional curiosity can help clients achieve much more. We will discuss what can be achieved and how to consider the language we use as occupational therapists when working with the engineer. We will explore how you can influence commercial manufacturers to design accessible and cognitive infusion products.
Understand population change and the implications for the care customer in the next 20 years
This webinar explores population-level ageing, examining drivers of change in the age-structure of the population such as fertility, mortality, and migration. We also discuss shifts in living arrangements, family formation, and dissolution, and their impact on older people's circumstances and sources of support. Additionally, we examine socio-economic differences across cohorts and discussed their implications for the changing care landscape over the next 20 years.
