Clinical Corner: tissue viability
This session brings together the key themes explored across our recent webinars on tissue viability.
This chatty, podcast-style webinar offers a relaxed and interactive space to revisit the most important clinical messages from the quarter. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance and during the session, creating an opportunity to explore real-world challenges, clarify key concepts, and deepen understanding of best practice when supporting individuals within tissue viability.
We will also highlight relevant intervention solutions and explore practical strategies for teaching and supporting others, and we will share our tissue viability guide with attendees after the session to support ongoing learning and application in practice.
Whether you joined us throughout the series or are looking for a concise and practical summary, this session will consolidate learning and provide actionable insights to apply in practice.

Meet our Experts

Sarah has always had a keen interest in Tissue Viability since becoming a registered nurse in 2002. Her experience varies from within a community setting, where she completed her Tissue Viability based degree in 2007. She then worked within the private sector to gain additional advanced wound care skills whilst working with a medical devices company specialised in wound healing. In 2010, Sarah became a Tissue Viability Nurse and shaped a specialised service within the acute sector for 7 years before returning to the community setting as a TVN.

Philippa qualified as a nurse in 1997 and quickly developed a passion for tissue viability while working in a hospital setting. Over the years she expanded her expertise through further education and clinical experience, leading to her first specialist Tissue Viability role in 2010. In this position she supported a nurse-led wound service and delivered education to healthcare staff on pressure ulcer prevention, wound management and best practice in patient care.
More recently, Philippa has worked as a Tissue Viability Nurse within community services, broadening her clinical perspective and strengthening her commitment to preventative care. By joining Accora, she is excited to champion the vital role of prevention in pressure ulcer management and support improved outcomes for patients.

Pressure Ulcer Prevention - No thank you
On occasions, individuals may decline a suggested care intervention which may lead to increased risk and conflict with staff wishing to add in these interventions. This webinar explores why people may make decisions about their care that healthcare professionals find challenging. Why HCPs find these decisions challenging. What national guidance there is around this topic. What you can do when a person decides not to adhere to suggested care interventions.
Introducing the Accora chair range - Which chair should I choose?
This session will provide an overview of the Accora chair range and how they have been designed to promote independence. There are several factors to consider to ensure clinical outcomes are met when it comes to choosing the right chair for a service user, the overview of our products covered in this webinar will aim to assist in choosing the appropriate chair for your service users needs in relation to size, pressure and postural issues.
AI in healthcare: Practical skills for the modern workplace
This webinar demystifies artificial intelligence for healthcare professionals who may feel overwhelmed or uncertain about AI's role in clinical practice. Moving beyond tech jargon and hype, we'll explore what AI actually is, how it works in healthcare contexts, and most importantly, how to use it safely and ethically in your daily practice.
Participants will learn practical applications for documentation, care planning, and clinical research synthesis, while addressing critical concerns about patient privacy, data security, and maintaining professional judgment. Through real-world examples from a physical therapy context, attendees will discover how AI can become a valuable thinking partner and help them reclaim time for patient care without compromising quality or ethics. The session incorporates recent ethical guidance from professional organisations to ensure responsible AI implementation.
